Impact through engagement
Good research communications should blend with research process. It works best if it is strategic, integrative and embedded within research, and not just as an add-on activity to disseminate findings at the end of a project. Using the right language, going to the right places and creating the right spaces are all ways in which to enable knowledge exchange and collaborative work. Wallace Research Communications can work with you to enhance engagement with your research, and increase the opportunities for real impact.
Dr Lucy Wallace
Communications & engagement consultant
I am an experienced communications professional specialising in research engagement. My background in research means I have an in-depth understanding of research culture and process, as well as over a decade of experience working with individuals and organisations to communicate ideas and enhance engagement.
During this time, I have worked at a strategic planning level, right through to implementation across a wide range of disciplines, with academics and professionals on projects of all sizes, from individual to large-scale international consortiums. For a number of years, I was responsible for managing the research communications portfolio for a research-intensive university. I also have experience in public engagement, including setting up and managing a science festival, as well as the curation of several exhibitions.
I am particularly interested in the potential for increasing research impact through enhancing engagement.
